This website is a labor of lunacy that I started several years ago much in the same way that I quit smoking. I would promise myself that I would never miss a post again and before you know it I’m back up to a week without writing a darn thing.
It’s not like I need to do this – I really don’t – but somewhere deep inside I realized quite honestly that the only thing that separates people who have accomplished something and the people who have accomplished nothing is doing the actual act itself – whatever it may be.
As a result I decided that I needed a website to collect my links, my thoughts, and whatever random pithy comments my fingers can mash into the keyboard.
I am recent Computer Science graduate from R.I.T. here in western New York. I live with my lovely wife, two incredible young sons, a cat, dog, goldfish and nine computers ranging from an antique SPARC 10 to a relatively zippy P4 running WindowsXP.
My hobbies include eating and sleeping while I try to be a quality father, husband and work full time for a gigantic faceless corporation whose lawyers would grind me into middle age puree if I mentioned their name here. I will say they make copiers, you can guess from there.
If I was held at gunpoint, I would say that my hobbies are computers and hacking things I don’t understand. This includes my phidgets pan and tilt webcam (you smell burning plastic?) and various oddball projects that I will hopefully get around to publishing here.
Thinking of hiring me? Don’t – seriously – I’m flattered but I really don’t have any time to work on whatever… money you say? Like exchangeable for goods and services kind of money? Well that’s a horse of a different color! Check out my resume here once I get it online!
Thanks for stopping by – drop me a line sometime via email but be certain to avoid subjects that include the words Viagra, Hot Chix or Cialis – I’ll never even see it…
Jim

Nice website! And what’s wrong with antique Sun Sparcs? Darn things work, and that’s more than I can say for Windows Vista. I’ve learned more Unix trying to keep my ‘copiers’ playing nice with their dedicated workstations than I can shake a stick at.
At home I’ll stick with my OSX Macs and Windows XP for the near future. OS X 10.4.10 on P4 Macs blows away Windows for performance, especially driving code-bloat like Office.
But don’t mind me, my tractor envy must be showing.
That’s all from the sunny South!
